What killed 11-year-old girl at Fla. mini-golf course?

An 11-year-old girl vacationing with her family died Wednesday at a miniature golf course in Florida, according to local reports.

Ashton Jojo was trying to find her lost golf ball at a putt-putt golf course, when witnesses say she fell into in a 2-feet-deep pond around 2 p.m. at the Orange Lake Resort in Kissimmee, Fla., according to the Orange County Sherrif?s Office.

Hotel employees told WESH 2 News they believe?girl was electrocuted.

Witnesses said they heard the girl scream out in distress. Deputies said another resort guest, Christopher Burges, tried pulling her out of the water but was injured in the process. Jojo was taken to Celebration Hospital where she later died.

An Orange County Sheriff?s Department spokesperson told msnbc.com that the cause of death is still under investigation, but police are looking at electrocution as a possible cause.

Representatives from the resort said the accident is still under investigation.

Deputies said Jojo was in town just days after her birthday on vacation with her parents and a brother from New York.
